What to do after a spill. What a detail can fix. What to ask before you pay. A practical checklist you can keep.
After a spill
Remove loose material. Blot gently with a clean cloth; do not scrub dirt into the surface. Check the vehicle and material care instructions before applying a cleaner. Avoid saturating seats or headliners, and keep liquid away from controls and electronics. If unsure, stop and ask for help.
What a detail can and cannot fix
Cleaning removes dirt and some stains. Paint correction can improve suitable surface defects; it cannot safely erase every scratch or replace missing paint. Permanent dye transfer, damage and etching may remain. Ask what result is realistic for your actual vehicle.
The first detail versus routine care
A reset deals with buildup. Maintenance deals with everyday use after that. Ask what is included in each visit, how often service occurs and what needs separate approval. Heavy restoration is not automatically included in every maintenance wash.
Before paying for ceramic coating
Ask five questions: What preparation does my paint need? Which exact product will be installed? What working and curing conditions does it require? How should I maintain it? What written coverage, if any, applies? A coating still needs washing and does not prevent all damage.
Before booking any mobile detail
Confirm the full vehicle-specific price, what a deposit covers, when the remaining balance is charged, access and utility needs, weather arrangements and the cancellation policy. A requested arrival window is not confirmed until the business confirms availability.
General guidance only. Always follow your vehicle, material and product instructions. Stop when a surface, condition or product is unfamiliar.
